Headcanons!
May. 7th, 2015 01:00 amBecause I hate myself and Apocalypse hasn't come out yet. LET'S MAKE THIS WORSE FOR MYSELF.
I'll make this pretty later.
FAMILY
--He has a twin sister named Wanda with reality warping powers. The younger sister he's hugging near the end of DOFP is Lorna; she has no powers because she's a result from Magda, their mother, having a relationship with another man.
--How does their family function you ask? Well, this. Just. This.
--He and Wanda hang out a lot, just sitting around in the same room, enjoying the others' company without having to speak. Peter, though, he speaks a lot, but not because he feels like he has to. Because he wants to.
--His mom has had a lot of men in her life. Why else would Peter word it like, "You know, my mom knew a guy who could control metal." She's known a lot of guys. Peter's either driven them off or they left themselves because they were dickbags. Got the idea from some fic probably the one I linked above idk but I like it fuck you.
--His mom used to [open his door at night just to check on him] it when he was little, like she thought if she saw him in bed, it meant he couldn't have run away, or maybe that he wouldn't run away. She stopped, when he got older, and she figured out that he could easily be in bed, and still have gotten to New York and back without her ever knowing he was gone. --X
MOTIVATIONS
--Peter feels lonely being the only speedster he knows. He can never walk alongside the rest of the world's time for long; it drives him nuts. He spends weeks within a day, running around at speed. He's not even sure if his birthday matches up with Wanda's anymore. He'd like someone to be able to keep up with him.
--Still, his ultimate priority, excepting sibling priorities, is to have fun. That's ultimately why he steals. He likes messing with people, he likes messing around, and he loves his powers. Why else would he have stashes of Twinkies and other snacks he could never hope to get through? He sees what he wants, and he takes it, and how he does it is a blast. Though...it's partly an attempt to fill that hole of loneliness that being the only speedster brings.
--Peter loves his sisters and would do anything for them, particularly Wanda. I feel like that's a given but it just had to be said.
--On some level, Peter's bitter and sad that he doesn't have a father present in his life. But at the same time, he doesn't want one. The guy never stuck around, so clearly he didn't care. So fuck him. Peter certainly doesn't need more people in his life who don't care about him. Still...having some kind of father figure would be nice, and he does crave that, even though he'd never admit it.
MISC.WHOEVENSPELLSTHISWORDCORRECTLY
--Peter's good with kids, he likes kids. They generally have the same priorities as him, they remind him of his little sister, and they're simple. Kids he gets. Kids don't expect anything from him except rides and kindness and maybe some candy. And when he disappoints a kid, it doesn't hurt as bad. Because it's always the little things with them.
--Peter longs for positive recognition. Because he's always stealing shit, because he's always bringing trouble to his doorstep and causing his mother grief, he hardly ever gets positive recognition. Now, negative attention is almost as good as positive--it's easy, it's funny, it's cheap. But on the off chance that he actually deserves some recognition because--wow hey, he did something good! Like save ALL YOUR ASSES FROM GUNS AND BULLETS--some damn recognition would be nice.
PERSONALITY
--Peter doesn't care about your drama. If he doesn't know you, he doesn't wanna hear it. He's not the biggest on deep interpersonal connections. It takes him a while to form those bonds beyond friendly banter and competition.
--Why yes. Yes he is very egocentric. Yes he does think he's the shit, he's bombin' as shit, dude. Just feed that ego, because...chances are he's soaking it up because he never gets a "good job, kid" except when it's coming from friggin' Wolverine.
--Mostly, the world went by so, so slowly. It took everyone ages to get even a simple sentence out. They all walked like they had nowhere they could need to be, and every time they ate it was a whole big production. Then they all conked out for eight hours a night-- just had to check out and bid the world a fond farewell. Peter found it much more efficient to take quick naps throughout the day, mostly between people saying "um" and the eternity until the next word. Yes. --X
POSSIBLE AUS
This whole damn fic. Peter's mom ships him off to Xavier's School for Gifted Children because she doesn't want him turning Lorna to a life of crime. Because she wants to be just like him. Peter meets Kurt, has a chat with Erik, and totally has a moment with Havoc. Hell yeah hot.
This Peter is almost exactly what I picture mine to be.
I'll make this pretty later.
